SepSig is a modern biotech start-up company with a goal of detecting sepsis before it is too late
Learn more about what we do
What is SepSig?
We are developing a device that will utilize several biosensors in order to monitor symptoms of sepsis in patients at risk. With the development of this continuously monitoring wristband, we can win the race against sepsis by allowing patients to get necessary care before it is too late -- potentially saving thousands of lives.
Why SepSig?
According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Sepsis is a complication that affects nearly 1.3 million American annually with over 270 thousand of those people dying- a number we believe can be reduced through early detection. From the study we will conduct, it will be clear what the most efficient way to detect sepsis earlier on through external symptoms is and how detection of these symptoms can occur in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Nearly 1 in 3 patients in hospitals die of sepsis and through this research we hope to get one step closer to reducing this astonishing number.
